Pho3nix Kids Triathlon concluded a successful first season in the Philippines with its finale on the 26th November at Fontana Resorts in Clark, Pampanga.
The fifth Pho3nix Kids Triathlon event of the year attracted more than 300 participants aged 5 to 17 across age-appropriate fun run distances and beginner and advanced triathlon and duathlon categories.
With each paid race entry sponsoring a free entry for children from partner schools and nearby communities, Pho3nix Kids Triathlon has also provided avenues for many children to participate for the first time in a sport event of this kind.
Each participant received a race shirt and bib number to start with and crossed the finish line with a Pho3nix Kids medal and post-race meal waiting. Participants in the advanced triathlon and duathlon categories also competed for age group podium awards and trophies.
Event partner Milo Philippines also gave away yet another 100 pairs of running shoes as part of its longstanding “Help Give Shoes” advocacy.
“Our first year delivering Pho3nix Kids Triathlons in the Philippines is in the books!” says Chris McCormack, Pho3nix Foundation board member and co-founder of sports entertainment agency Mana Global. “The Filipino sports community’s warmth and enthusiasm in reception went a long way in bringing the Pho3nix mission to life, providing so many children with the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of activity and movement.
“We are so glad to be continuing this work next year through Mana Global and Pho3nix Foundation’s partnership with GoClark. As more kids join the Pho3nix global movement, we fulfil the Pho3nix motto: Together We Rise.”Registration is now open for the 2024 Pho3nix Kids Triathlon Philippines season, with the first event kicking off in Subic Bay on 24th February. The series then heads to Fontana Resorts in Clark on the 22nd June and New Clark City for two races on the 20th July and 12th October before the 2024 season finale (date and venue to be announced).
