The Pho3nix Sports Awards is proud to honor four outstanding athletes who have showcased remarkable dedication, passion, and excellence in sport and beyond.
Held by the Pho3nix Foundation quarterly, the Pho3nix Sports Awards shine a spotlight on those individuals who demonstrate outstanding athletic achievements and embody the values of the Pho3nix Foundation, inspiring and motivating people of all ages and backgrounds to rise above challenges and pursue their sporting goals.
Across four categories with the winners determined by public voting and announced through the live awards show on 9 November 2023, the Pho3nix Sports Awards pays tribute to athletes who inspire us all with their incredible journeys and achievements.
Pho3nix Kids Award: Eva Firley
Nominees for the Pho3nix Kids Award were selected based on their personal journey to a Pho3nix Kids event, their exemplary conduct, dedication, and overall experience at the event, as well as their embodiment of the core values upheld by the Pho3nix Foundation.
Eva Firley’s story embodies the inclusive nature of Pho3nix Kids events. With infectious energy and positivity, Eva, who has Down syndrome, took on a triathlon with the unwavering support of her mother Britt at the Pho3nix Kids Gold Coast Triathlon in Australia.
Pho3nix Next Gen Award: Margaréta Vráblová
The Pho3nix Next Gen Award celebrates a member of the Pho3nix community aged 14 to 20 who has inspired their peers through their outstanding athletic achievements. They lead by example as they carve their unique journey along the Pho3nix Pathway.
Margaréta Vráblová attended one of the first Pho3nix Future camps in Poland. Since then, she has achieved a series of remarkable victories, including five Europeean Junior Cup victories and a 5th place in the Junior World Championships.
Pho3nix Ethos Award: Gene Heart Quiambao
The Pho3nix Ethos Award is bestowed upon a Pho3nix of any age who authentically embodies the fundamental principles of the Foundation. They are recognized for their unwavering commitment to inspiring and motivating others within sport and beyond.
Gene Heart Quiambao is among the first athletes to tread the path from one Pho3nix program to the next, attending a Pho3nix Future camp in Thailand and then being selected for the Pho3nix Junior Team. Gene volunteered at the Pho3nix Kids Triathlon Phuket and also ran a clinic at one of the Philippines Kids Triathlon series events.
Pho3nix Extraordinary Performance Award: Jenjira Stadelmann
The Pho3nix Extraordinary Performance accolade is presented to a Pho3nix member, regardless of age or skill level, who has delivered a sporting performance that serves as a genuine source of inspiration. This recognition can be attributed to exceptional effort, outstanding results, or embarking on a remarkable journey to a sporting achievement that captivates the attention and imagination of sports enthusiasts.
Since joining the Pho3nix Athlete Program in 2023, five-time Swiss badminton champion Jenjira Stadelmann has enjoyed a string of strong results culminating in a bronze medal in the women’s singles at the European Championships in Poland in August. Jenjira has risen meteorically to a career-high ranking #58 and is well on her way toward qualifying for her first Olympic Games.
These four awardees represent the values of inclusivity, dedication, community involvement, and pursuit of excellence that the Pho3nix Sports Awards proudly stand for.
The next quarterly round of the Pho3nix Sports Awards has already begun, with the nomination period taking place from October to December considering achievements from within the past 12-month period. Nominees will be announced on January 10 after which a three-week public voting period will commence, ending on January 31. Next quarter’s winners will be announced on the live awards show on February 9.
