Riding Monaco with Chris Froome: A once-in-a-lifetime experience powered by Pho3nix

For most cycling fans, riding alongside Chris Froome on the roads where he trained for Tour de France victories is the stuff of dreams. At the inaugural Pho3nix Sport With Purpose Charity Gala in Zurich, that dream became a reality for one successful auction bidder.

Held to support the Pho3nix Foundation’s mission of creating opportunities for children and young athletes through sport, the Gala featured a live and silent auction of exclusive experiences and memorabilia. Among the most sought-after items was a VIP cycling experience in Monaco with Froome himself.

Months later, hosted by Pho3nix founder Sebastian Kulczyk, the winning bidder and two guests travelled to Monaco for an intimate behind-the-scenes experience with one of cycling’s all-time greats. A seven-time Grand Tour winner, Froome claimed four Tour de France titles, a Giro d’Italia, and two Vuelta a España victories during a career defined by extraordinary success, resilience, and determination. His remarkable comeback from a life-threatening crash in 2019 only added to a legacy that continues to inspire athletes around the world.

Over two days, guests were immersed in the world of elite cycling, enjoying luxury accommodation in Monaco, personalised Pho3nix cycling kit, professional support on the road, and the opportunity to spend meaningful time with the champion.

The centrepiece of the experience was a challenging 101-kilometre ride through the mountains above Monaco, tackling iconic climbs including the Col de Braus and the legendary Col de la Madone. As the group rode through the same terrain that has shaped generations of professional cyclists, Froome shared stories and insights from a career spent at the pinnacle of the sport.

Supported by a dedicated crew and follow vehicle, the experience offered a genuine taste of professional cycling life before concluding with a hosted lunch alongside Froome and Kulczyk. Professional photographers and videographers documented every moment, ensuring memories of the experience would last long after the final climb.
