Pho3nix Kids by the Brownlee Foundation has successfully wrapped up its 2024 season, welcoming more than 13,000 children across the Pho3nix finish arch this year.
With an average of nearly 1,000 kids coming to each of the 10 announced Pho3nix Kids mini-triathlons as well as four additional events, Pho3nix Kids by the Brownlee Foundation saw a 17% increase in participants year-over-year and consistent growth since the beginning of the partnership between the Pho3nix Foundation and the Brownlee Foundation in 2022.
This is also the third year in a row that participation has breached 10,000, with every year edging closer to a new benchmark of 15,000. But these are more than just numbers: each one is a life reached and changed, inspired with a love of sport and an active lifestyle.
Open to Key Stage 2 children from 7 to 11 years old and free for primary schools to attend with local schools invited on a county- or city-wide basis, Pho3nix Kids by Brownlee Foundation events are designed to be a fun and inclusive introduction to swim, bike, run, and triathlon. Children of all abilities and backgrounds are able to participate, with swims held over short distances in shallow water and all equipment provided on the day including scooters for kids unable to ride a bike.
Last year, Pho3nix Kids by Brownlee Foundation welcomed a landmark 50,000th participant across the finish line since the Brownlee Foundation began holding its events in 2014. The partnership between Pho3nix and the Brownlee Foundation continues to enable both organisations to reach more communities and fulfil the shared goals of introducing sport and movement to more children.
