Four-time Tour de France champion Chris Froome joins the 2026 Pho3nix Sport with Purpose Charity Gala

Four-time Tour de France champion and seven-time Grand Tour winner Chris Froome will return to the Pho3nix Sport with Purpose Charity Gala in 2026, joining an extraordinary line-up of sporting greats in London this November.

Taking place at The Peninsula London on Friday 20 November, the Gala will bring together leading figures from the worlds of sport, entertainment and business in support of the Pho3nix Foundation’s mission to create healthier, happier futures for children through sport.

One of the most accomplished cyclists of his generation, Froome has enjoyed an extraordinary career at the highest level of the sport. His seven Grand Tour victories include four Tour de France titles, two Vuelta a España victories and the Giro d’Italia, placing him among an elite group of riders to have won all three Grand Tours.

Froome is also a two-time Olympic bronze medallist, representing Great Britain in the individual time trial at London 2012 and Rio 2016.

His career has been defined not only by success, but by resilience. After suffering a serious crash in 2019, Froome faced an extensive rehabilitation and recovery before returning to professional racing, a journey that embodied the determination and perseverance at the heart of his career.

Froome’s return to the Gala continues his connection with the Pho3nix Foundation and its Sport with Purpose mission.

He was among the headline sporting guests at the inaugural Pho3nix Sport with Purpose Charity Gala at the Dolder Grand in Zurich in 2025, joining athletes, entertainers, philanthropists and business leaders to help raise funds for programmes creating greater access to sport for children and young people around the world.

His contribution extended beyond the evening itself.

As part of the Gala’s charity auction, Froome offered a once-in-a-lifetime VIP cycling experience in Monaco. Months later, the winning bidder and two guests joined Froome for an intimate two-day experience centred around a 101-kilometre ride through the mountains above Monaco, including the Col de Braus and Col de la Madone.

The experience offered guests the rare opportunity to ride alongside one of cycling’s great champions while helping generate vital support for Pho3nix programmes – bringing together sporting excellence, extraordinary experiences and meaningful impact.

Sport with purpose

The Pho3nix Sport with Purpose Charity Gala is the Pho3nix Foundation’s flagship annual fundraising event, supporting programmes that give children and young people greater access to sport and physical activity.

Through its global programmes and partnerships, the Foundation works to remove barriers to participation and create opportunities for young people to move, develop and thrive through sport.

The 2026 Gala will continue that legacy, bringing together an exceptional line-up of sporting champions and special guests. Joining Froome among those already confirmed to attend are six-time NBA champion and basketball legend Scottie Pippen, two-time Olympic swimming champion Rebecca Adlington OBE, Rugby World Cup-winning England captain Lawrence Dallaglio, Olympic triathlon champions Alistair and Jonny Brownlee, and former England cricket captain Sir Alastair Cook.

Guests attending the Gala will enjoy an exclusive live auction featuring extraordinary sporting experiences and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, while supporters around the world will also have the opportunity to participate through an online auction.
