Britain’s most successful female Olympian Dame Laura Kenny joins the 2026 Pho3nix Sport with Purpose Charity Gala

Britain’s most successful female Olympian, Dame Laura Kenny, will join the special guests at the 2026 Pho3nix Sport with Purpose Charity Gala in London this November.

Taking place at The Peninsula London on Friday 20 November, the Gala will bring together some of the biggest names in sport alongside leaders from business, entertainment and philanthropy, all in support of the Pho3nix Foundation’s work to create healthier, happier futures for children through sport.

Across three Olympic Games, Kenny won five gold medals and one silver, becoming the most successful female cyclist in Olympic history and one of the defining British athletes of her generation.

She announced herself on the Olympic stage at London 2012, winning gold in both the team pursuit and omnium. Four years later in Rio, she successfully defended both titles, before returning at Tokyo 2020 to win the inaugural women’s Madison alongside Katie Archibald and claim silver in the team pursuit.

Her success extended well beyond the Olympic Games, with multiple World, European and Commonwealth titles across a career at the highest level of track cycling.

Kenny announced her retirement from the sport in 2024, bringing to a close an extraordinary competitive career that helped transform the profile of women’s cycling in Great Britain and inspired a generation of girls and young women to get on a bike and become active.

Inspiring the next generation

Throughout her career, Kenny has spoken about what it means to inspire women and girls to become active and discover cycling for themselves.

Her journey, from a young rider discovering the sport to becoming Britain’s most successful female Olympian,  is a powerful example of where access, opportunity and a love of sport can lead.

It is a message that closely reflects the work of the Pho3nix Foundation, which creates opportunities for children and young people around the world to participate in sport, build confidence and develop healthy habits that can stay with them throughout their lives.

This November, Kenny will join athletes, leaders and supporters at The Peninsula London for an evening celebrating the role sport can play in shaping lives, while raising vital funds to give more children the opportunity to participate.

Sport with purpose

The Pho3nix Sport with Purpose Charity Gala is the Pho3nix Foundation’s flagship annual fundraising event, supporting programmes that give children and young people greater access to sport and physical activity.

The 2026 Gala will bring together an exceptional line-up of sporting champions and special guests. Also joining the line-up is the celebrated Super Saturday trio of Jessica Ennis-Hill, Sir Mo Farah and Greg Rutherford, who famously claimed three Olympic gold medals for Great Britain within 44 unforgettable minutes at London 2012.

Guests attending the Gala will enjoy an exclusive live auction featuring extraordinary sporting experiences and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, while supporters around the world will also have the opportunity to participate through an online auction.
