Pho3nix delivers gifts to brave little patients on St Nicolas Day

The Pho3nix Foundation celebrated St. Nicolas Day on 6 December with literary gifts for brave little patients at children’s hospitals in Poland.

Two hundred children from the Muskuloskeletal System Day Rehabilitation and Cardiothoracic Surgery Units of the Children’s Memorial Health Institute in Warsaw and 400 children at the Dega University Hospital in Poznań each received two special publications:

• “When Karol Met Emma” is the first book of its kind in Poland, primarily aimed at children to familiarise them with the concept of disability, support understanding the special needs of their peers, and shape attitudes of kindness and empathy.
• “Tomato Queen: 100 Healthy Recipes for Children” aims to promote healthy eating habits among children. It compiles recipes tailored to children’s needs, encouraging a balanced and nutritious diet.

These gifts aimed to bring joy to these young patients and also contribute significantly to the broader goals of promoting understanding, empathy, and well-being within the community.

The Pho3nix Foundation works hand-in-hand with hospitals in Poland to support better standard of care especially for pediatric patients. Through a donation of 21 million PLN (approximately €4.8 million) to the Children’s Memorial Health Institute, a state-of-the-art comprehensive aquatic rehabilitation center will be established on the site of the old swimming pool.

Pho3nix has also conducted two major fundraising campaigns for hospitals in Poznań, facilitating the donation of 4,500,000 PLN (€1,037,000) for the Pediatric Orthopedics and Traumatology Clinic at the Dega University Hospital and 1,000,000 PLN (€230,000) for the Pediatric Oncology, Hematology, and Transplantology Clinic at the Karol Jonscher Clinical Hospital.
