Pho3nix Kids by Brownlee Foundation in 2025: From Finish Lines to Fresh Beginnings

Pho3nix Kids by the Brownlee Foundation wrapped up another rewarding season welcoming children across finish lines in England and setting them on the path to enjoy swimming, cycling, and running for life.

The events are free for primary schools, with invitations extended on a county- or city-wide basis. Open to Key Stage 2 children aged 7 to 11, they are designed to be beginner-friendly, fun, and inclusive with shorter swim distances in shallow water and all equipment provided, including scooters for children who cannot yet ride a bike.

Since partnering with the Brownlee Foundation in 2022, Pho3nix has propelled the 10-race Pho3nix Kids series forward, introducing more children to the joy of sport and movement. We are now on track to reach 100,000 finishers by 2027, doubling the 50,000 milestone in less than half the time.

This growth has also opened opportunities to collaborate with other charities, such as Paris Olympic champion Alex Yee’s Lewisham to the World to deliver the Alex Yee Triathlon and introducing children in his hometown to the sport just as he once was.

The work also goes beyond finish lines, with the Pho3nix Kids Pathway Program establishing a discovery-based environment where children can build their swim, bike, and run skills at their own pace. By bridging gaps in ability and confidence, it prepares them to take the next step into local clubs, setting them on the road to lifelong participation in sport.

At the new Pho3nix Kids by Brownlee Foundation event in Willesden, Alfie, a young boy with special needs, faced down barriers that once made sport feel out of reach. Supported by his teaching assistant and encouraged in a safe, inclusive setting, Alfie paddled across the pool for the first time. By the time he reached the other side, he was asking to do it again. Through the Pathway Program, Alfie received a scholarship for 10 swim lessons, giving him not only the chance to learn a vital life skill but also to build the confidence to thrive.

With every finish line crossed and every new pathway paved, Pho3nix Kids are not only growing numbers, but shaping brighter, healthier futures as more children discover the joy of sport.
