Leading sports broadcaster Nicki Shields announced as co-host of 2026 Pho3nix Sport with Purpose Charity Gala

Leading sports broadcaster Nicki Shields has been announced as co-host of the 2026 Pho3nix Sport with Purpose Charity Gala, bringing her trademark energy, charisma and international broadcasting experience to one of London’s most anticipated sporting charity evenings.
Taking place at the prestigious Peninsula London on Friday 20 November, the Gala will unite an extraordinary collection of sporting legends and influential leaders for an unforgettable evening celebrating the power of sport to transform young lives.
Best known as the lead presenter of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, Shields has established herself as one of the most recognisable voices in international motorsport. With more than a decade of broadcasting experience, she has fronted coverage across some of the world’s leading sporting platforms, including ITV, BBC, CNN and Sky Sports.
A trailblazer in motorsport broadcasting, Shields became Formula E’s first female lead presenter and made history as the first female lead commentator for F1 Academy in 2024. Her career has also included presenting the British Touring Car Championship, F1TV, the Goodwood Festival of Speed and major international events, earning her a reputation for insightful interviews, engaging storytelling and a natural ability to connect with audiences.
Beyond the screen, Shields is a passionate advocate for creating opportunities for the next generation. As an ambassador for FIA Girls on Track, she has championed greater participation for girls and young women in motorsport, science and technology, making her a fitting addition to an evening dedicated to unlocking potential through sport.
Shields said she was delighted to be part of an evening with such a powerful purpose.
“Sport has an incredible ability to inspire, bring people together and open doors that might otherwise remain closed,” Shields said.
“Throughout my career, I’ve seen first-hand how powerful sporting role models can be, particularly for young people who are just beginning to discover what’s possible.
“To be part of an evening that brings together so many extraordinary people, all united by the ambition to give more children access to sport, is a real privilege. I’m looking forward to celebrating their stories, sharing some unforgettable moments and helping make the 2026 Gala a truly special occasion.”
Shields will help guide guests through an evening of extraordinary sporting stories, entertainment and philanthropy, as the Pho3nix Foundation seeks to raise vital funds to expand opportunities for children to participate in sport and physical activity around the world.
The Gala’s remarkable guest list already features some of the most celebrated names in sporting history, including six-time NBA champion Scottie Pippen, four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome, Britain’s most successful female Olympian Dame Laura Kenny, Olympic swimming champions Rebecca Adlington OBE and Adam Peaty OBE, Rugby World Cup winner Lawrence Dallaglio OBE, Olympic triathlon champions Alistair Brownlee OBE and Jonny Brownlee MBE, and former England cricket captain Sir Alastair Cook.
Adding to the occasion will be Britain’s legendary Super Saturday trio, Sir Mo Farah, Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill and Greg Rutherford, whose three Olympic gold medals within 44 unforgettable minutes became one of the defining moments of London 2012.
Together, they represent an extraordinary breadth of sporting achievement, from Olympic stadiums and championship circuits to basketball arenas, rugby pitches and the world’s most demanding endurance events.
With Shields helping bring their stories to life, the 2026 Gala promises an evening that goes beyond celebrating sporting greatness, shining a spotlight on the opportunities that sport can create for the next generation.
The Pho3nix Foundation is committed to breaking down barriers to participation in sport and physical activity, supporting programmes and initiatives that empower children to discover their potential, build confidence and lead healthier, happier lives.
The 2026 Pho3nix Sport with Purpose Charity Gala will take place at The Peninsula London on Friday 20 November 2026.
