Pho3nix Kids by Brownlee Foundation continues to expand its reach across the United Kingdom, with thousands of children taking part in events that introduce them to swimming, cycling and running. Outstanding participation at every stop on the calendar reflects sustained demand for fun, inclusive experiences that encourage young people to get active and develop a lifelong love of sport.
One of the programme’s greatest successes, however, has been what happens after the finish line. The Pho3nix Kids by Brownlee Foundation Pathway Programme gives participants the opportunity to continue their sporting journey within their local communities. Designed to build skills, confidence and participation, the weekly sessions help prepare young people to join local sports clubs and make physical activity a regular part of their lives.
This has been particularly evident in Leeds and Derby, where weekly attendance has continued to grow following local Pho3nix Kids events, while York now offers two sessions each week. The programme will expand further in September with the launch of new sessions in Bradford.
Supporting this growth is a simple but effective signposting strategy, with information about the Pathway Programme included in every participant pack throughout the season. By connecting children and families with ongoing opportunities to swim, cycle and run after the events, the programme is transforming a single day of participation into a long-term sporting journey. Planned in-school activities later this year will further strengthen these community connections and introduce even more children to regular physical activity.
Pho3nix Kids by Brownlee Foundation is on track for another landmark year. While strong event participation continues to demonstrate the programme’s growing reach, its greatest impact lies in creating lasting pathways that help children stay active, build confidence and become lifelong members of their local sporting communities.
