For many children, the first step towards a lifelong love of physical activity doesn’t happen on a race course or in a sporting club – it happens at school. Through the Pho3nix Kids Education Workshops by Javier Gómez Noya, the Pho3nix Foundation is helping students across Spain discover that being active can be enjoyable, rewarding and accessible to everyone.
Now in its fourth year, Pho3nix Kids by Javier Gómez Noya continues to expand its reach through a combination of triathlon events and school-based education workshops. During the first half of 2026, the programme visited schools across Galicia, engaging students through a unique blend of athlete inspiration, movement and hands-on learning.
Led by Head Coach Víctor Riobó and a team of qualified sport science professionals, the workshops are designed to do far more than encourage children to be active for a day. They aim to help every participant discover their own strengths, build confidence through movement and understand that there is a place for everyone in sport.
Each workshop begins with an inspirational session where students hear directly from professional athletes about the values sport can teach, including commitment, perseverance, teamwork and healthy habits. Often, ten-time World Champion and Olympic silver medallist Javier Gómez Noya shares his own journey, from a young athlete growing up in Galicia to becoming one of the greatest triathletes in history. His story is a powerful reminder that extraordinary achievements often begin with a single opportunity to get involved.
The inspiration is quickly followed by action. Students rotate through a series of interactive activity stations designed to test a range of physical skills, including endurance, coordination, jumping ability and power. Guided by the coaching team, every child is encouraged to challenge themselves while receiving positive encouragement and personalised results that highlight their individual strengths.
Rather than focusing solely on competition, the workshops celebrate participation and recognise that every child has different talents and abilities. By helping students discover what they enjoy and where they naturally excel, the programme builds confidence and creates positive experiences with physical activity that can inspire healthy habits well beyond the classroom.
Since launching in 2022, Pho3nix Kids by Javier Gómez Noya has introduced thousands of children across Spain to the benefits of an active lifestyle. As the programme continues to grow, its school workshops are playing an increasingly important role in the Pho3nix Foundation’s mission to inspire young people to lead active, healthy lives through the power of sport.
