From local start lines to the world stage: How Pho3nix is creating opportunities for Polish athletes

8 cze 2026

When Kacper Stepniak crossed the line to win the Polish Middle Distance Championship at JBL Triathlon Sieraków (30–31 May 2026), it was more than just a national title. It was a reflection of what becomes possible when talented athletes are given the support, opportunities and environment needed to reach their potential.

For the Pho3nix Foundation, Kacper’s victory represents one outcome of a much broader commitment to developing sport in Poland. Through investment in athletes, events and youth participation, Pho3nix is helping create pathways that allow athletes to progress from their first experiences in sport to competing at the highest levels nationally and internationally.

JBL Triathlon Sieraków powerfully showcased that approach. One of the strongest editions in the event’s history, the 2026 race welcomed both adult athletes and children across two days of competition at one of Poland’s leading triathlon events. At the elite level, the Polish Middle Distance Championship brought together many of the country’s top professional athletes, delivering exciting racing and highlighting the strength of the domestic triathlon scene.

It also demonstrated the importance of creating opportunities beyond the race itself. Financial support helps remove barriers that often prevent athletes from fully pursuing their ambitions. With greater stability, athletes can focus on training, racing, recovery and long-term development. Access to international competition, increased visibility and stronger commercial opportunities further support their progression and help build sustainable sporting careers.

These opportunities are becoming increasingly important as Polish athletes seek to compete on the world stage. Pho3nix’s support extends beyond individual athletes to the broader ecosystem that surrounds them, creating stronger events, more competitive racing and clearer development pathways.

The impact can also be seen at the grassroots level. Hundreds of children participated in the Pho3nix Kids Cup Sieraków, experiencing the excitement of competition in a fun and supportive environment. The event also allowed them to see what is possible when they share the same stage as national champions and elite athletes.

One of the most inspiring moments of the weekend came through the Charity Relay initiative. Together with athletes, partners and supporters, 264,000 PLN was raised for a children’s home in Chrzypsko Wielkie. Among the participants were Pho3nix board member Chris McCormack, Karina Kruczyńska, Maurice Becot and a relay team assembled by Pho3nix ambassador Maja Włoszczowska.

The funds will support renovation projects, social initiatives and the purchase of a new vehicle, demonstrating how sport can create meaningful impact far beyond competition.

Success in sport rarely happens in isolation. Behind every breakthrough performance is a network of support, opportunities and people making it possible for athletes to rise above barriers and pursue their ambitions. From youth participation programs and community initiatives to national championship victories and international ambitions, Pho3nix continues to invest in every stage of the athlete journey.
