Pho3nix and Dallaglio RugbyWorks Join Forces in Liverpool

Using the power of sport to create opportunity and brighter futures for young people across Liverpool.

The Pho3nix Foundation is proud to announce a new strategic partnership with Dallaglio RugbyWorks, supporting the expansion of its community-based youth sport and development programme in Liverpool, England.

Founded by former England rugby captain Lawrence Dallaglio OBE, Dallaglio RugbyWorks supports young people who have been excluded from mainstream education or are at risk of disengaging from school, employment, or training. Using the structure of rugby and its values of teamwork, discipline, and hard work, the programme builds life skills and clear pathways toward a more positive future.

Under the new partnership, the Liverpool programme will officially become Pho3nix Dallaglio RugbyWorks Liverpool. The support from the Pho3nix Foundation will enable the initiative to expand from five to eight schools, increase evening and community-based sessions, recruit additional staff, and introduce year-round holiday provision ensuring continuity of support.

Dallaglio RugbyWorks has demonstrated powerful social outcomes across England. Its programme in Liverpool especially shows exceptionally strong results, with the vast majority of participants progressing into full-time education and employment, reporting improvements in communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. While it currently delivers weekly sessions across schools and youth centres including Alsop High School and The Hive Youth Zone, demand has outstripped capacity.

The long-term goal is to establish a city-wide delivery model, engaging more than a thousand young people annually and providing consistent pathways back into education, employment, or training.
