John Steffensen
BIOGRAPHY
John Steffensen is one of Australia’s most recognisable track and field athletes, having won more international medals than any other Australian male sprinter – including a silver medal at the Athens Olympic Games and gold at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games. Interestingly enough, John once gave up athletics for amateur boxing, becoming a triple golden gloves and state champion with a 26-6 win-loss record.
After retiring from Athletics in 2014, John has been working with young Australian athletic talent as well as regularly hosting and providing expert commentary on national sports broadcasts and making high profile appearances on The Apprentice, Ninja Warrior and SAS Australia. He is also a very accomplished competitive race car driver.
John’s charisma and ambition has placed him as one of Australia’s most famous people.
