Yasmin started out racing against her brother in casual backyard duels. Then one day, she took on their village sprint. One thing led to another and she found herself in the national final, where she made the podium. From there she was scouted for further development, with stints in heptathlon, 800m, 4x400m relay, as well as winning silver for Switzerland in the 400m sprint at the 2015 European Youth Olympics.
She has since come into her own over the 400m hurdles, winning gold at the 2017 U20 European Championship, bronze at the U20 World Championship, and taking the national title two years in a row. She is currently ranked 32nd on the World Athletics qualification standing for the Olympics. With the Pho3nix Foundation’s support, she is well on her way on the road to Tokyo
Always have a goal in mind and pursue it consistently. But fun and health should be first priority.
