Margie is one of the few Olympic hopefuls from the Philippines. Her Olympic campaign unfortunately coincided with the closure of Cebu City’s only public skatepark. She had to make do with practicing beneath a bridge in a neighboring city and risking getting kicked out for trespassing.

Being the true champion for skateboarding she is, she campaigned for and helped design a skatepark inspired by world-class facilities she had trained at so she and the national team can train for competitions in the US and Europe before they head to Tokyo.

Her meteoric rise has raised the profile of skateboarding not just in her home country, but for the entire region as she continues to lead the way.

Achievements:

          Gold, Asian Games (2018)

2x gold, Southeast Asian Games (2019)

Asia’s Skater of the Year (2020)

2nd runner up, Tampa Pro Women’s Open (2020

Skateboarding is the same as life; no matter how many times you fail, you still get back up and keep going. Try and try again until you land your trick.
